Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PartyStream ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PartyStream is a free, browser-based application that allows a host to stream video content directly to other participants in real time. The Service uses peer-to-peer WebRTC connections for video delivery and a signaling server for room management and chat.
3. No Account Required
PartyStream does not require registration, accounts, or login credentials. The only information you provide is a display name (up to 30 characters) when creating or joining a room. This name is held in memory during your session and is not stored permanently.
4. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your use of the Service, including:
- Content you stream. You must own or have the right to stream any video file you share. PartyStream does not monitor, store, or review video content. You must not stream, share, or distribute copyrighted material unless you own the content or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, or permissions.
- Chat conduct. You agree not to use the chat feature to harass, threaten, spam, or otherwise harm other participants.
- Room codes. Room codes grant access to your session. Share them only with people you trust. PartyStream has no way to revoke a code once issued.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Stream content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or abuse the Service or its servers
- Use automated tools to interact with the Service
- Circumvent any limitations on room size or feature access
- Impersonate another person or entity
6. Intellectual Property
The Service itself, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by PartyStream. Users retain ownership of content they own and remain responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights or permissions to stream or share content through the Service. PartyStream does not claim any ownership over user-streamed content.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party tools to function, including Cloudflare (for TURN relay connections), Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Availability and Warranty
PartyStream is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the Service will be available at all times, free of errors, or compatible with every device or browser. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PartyStream shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, service interruptions, or unauthorized access to your transmissions.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
